Degree Classification
The undergraduate handbook, available form the university web site, states:-

Classification for Honours

Classification is determined by working out a credit-weighted arithmetic mean of the results of all your level three modules plus the highest results of your level two modules so as to reach the required total of at least 180 credits. Once you have the mean mark, the rest is simple. 70% and above is a First, marks in the 60’s are upper seconds, those in the 50’s obtain lower seconds, those in the 40’s obtain 3rds and those below 40 fails.

What does this mean?

In calculating your final degree classification, which is generally an Honours degree for BA LTR researchers, the university will use an average based on:

*your highest two marks from Level 2
*and all your marks from Level 3
