Below is a wonderful example of using alternative genre provided by Lynette Gridley from Cohort 3 for her Learning In The Work Setting module work. Lynette obviously has great talent; if there's something shining inside of you now is the time to let it out. Everything in the blue cell is Lynette's.

Learning in the Work Setting - LA3

The following is the words to the song ‘Don’t It Make My PDP’ which can be heard on file LiWS_LA3c_mp3. Please take this form of presentation with the humour that it was made and please excuse the appalling grammar and the voice of course! Bad grammar seems essential to create that ‘song sound!’

The reference to CIPD (www.cipd.co.uk) is the website where I found a structure in a format I preferred to use to form my PDP. This may be a light-hearted approach, but it contains a reference to the web literature, it reflects on my situation pre and post the creation of my PDP and describes the learning and evaluation required to create the document.

Don’t It Make My PDP!

Don’t know how or where I am
Don’t have much without my plan
Got no appraisal too
And I won’t get no annual review
So what was on my PDP
Was it SMART
Was it for me
Wasn’t meant to be
‘Cos it’s not for employees like me
Needed commitment
An’ defining roles
Needed objectives
An’ reviewing my goals
Make it specific
With a limit or two
Make it realistic
And personal too
Now I have my PDP
Know where I am
Know where I’ll be
Thanks to CIPD
And don’t it make my PD
Don’t it make my PD
Don’t it make my PDP …… easy x 3
